PAST WINNER SPOTLIGHT – Scott Gailor’s 1968 Ford XT Falcon Ute
Scott Gailor, a Tuff Streeters member from Victoria, took home one of the Toughest XT Utes in the country, valued at $120,000!
Finished in striking Vermilion Fire and sitting tough on Weld V-Series beadlocks, this street weapon is more than just good looks, it’s a purpose built, naturally aspirated bruiser with serious hardware to back it up.
Power comes from a Dart 427ci Windsor, built with a Scat 4” crank, H-beam rods, and SRP pistons. Topped with AFR 225 CNC ported heads by Flowcraft, a Super Victor manifold, and a Holley 950 Ultra HP, it’s a well thought out combo making 670hp and 560 ft-lb of torque. An MSD Digital 6 ignition and MagnaFlow 650 pump keep spark and fuel in check.
The driveline is just as serious: a manualised MDT-built C10 with transbrake, TCI 5000rpm converter, and a 3.5” tailshaft feeding a sheet metal 9-inch, loaded with Strange alloy centre, full spool, billet 31 spline axles, and 4.3 gears. On track, it’s run a best of 10.4@131mph.
Chassis wise, it’s set up to hook hard: custom 90/10 front shocks, CalTracs, mono leaf rear, and Calvert adjustable shocks. A full dual 3” exhaust with coated 1 7/8” headers, Hooker centre mufflers, and twin rears gives it the bark to match the bite.
Inside, it’s been fully retrimmed in black XT GT style, and had recently been completely rewired. Visually, subtle tubs, sheet metal inner guards, a 3 inch reverse cowl, and clean bodywork keep it all business.
With street smarts, strip pedigree, and a build that leaves no detail untouched, this isn’t just another tough Ford, it’s the real deal.
Congratulations to Scott Gailor, another past winner now commanding the streets in one of the hardest hitting XT Falcon utes on the road.
