Past Winner Spotlight: Nicole Pupavac’s 1970 Ford XW Falcon
Nicole Pupavac from Victoria is now the proud owner of this breathtaking 1970 Ford XW Falcon, valued at $140,000. This XW is a perfect example of classic Aussie muscle, with modern engineering and a serious powertrain under the bonnet.
Powering this beast is a 434 cubic inch Windsor Dart Iron Eagle block, topped with a 1050cfm Dominator carburettor, CHI intake manifold and CHI heads. It’s built with Isky Gold Stripe series valve springs, chromoly pushrods, a Camtech solid roller cam, Crower roller lifters, an Eagle 4340 crank, Clevite bearings, Oliver I-beam rods, and CP forged pistons, all brought to life by a bulletproof MSD ignition system and kept well-lubricated by a Moroso external oil pump.
Backing up that power is a Pro Trans built Turbo 400 automatic transmission with a JW bell housing adapter and a TCE 5000rpm converter, sending power to the ground through a tough Hardy Spicer tailshaft.
The 9 inch diff houses a 35 spline TruTrac centre with 3.25:1 gears, ensuring maximum traction and durability. Handling is dialled in with front and rear fully adjustable Gazzard Bros suspension, giving Nicole the confidence to put all that power down and keep it straight.
The XW rolls on Weld V series wheels, 17×4.5 inch fronts wrapped in Nankang 165/70/17 tyres, and 15×8 inch rears with PSR 255/60/15 tyres, giving it that perfect street stance and serious grip where it counts.
Nicole’s XW Falcon is a testament to the perfect blend of old-school muscle and modern engineering. Congratulations to Nicole Pupavac, another past winner now rolling in one of the toughest XW Falcons in the country!
