Past Winner Spotlight: Anthony Caruana’s 1993 Nissan R32 GTR VSPEC
Anthony Caruana from Victoria didn’t just win a car – he won an engineering masterpiece that’s as tough as it is beautiful: a 1993 Nissan R32 GTR VSPEC, valued at $130,000.
This isn’t your average skyline. This is a 670RWKW street and strip slayer that ran out of turbo before it ran out of attitude.
Here’s what makes it one of the nastiest GTRs to ever grace Aussie roads:
The Engine consists of a Dandy Engines Assembled RB26 Short Motor that’s built to handle it all, with a Half Grout filled Block and PRP Engine Brace for maximum strength at insane boost levels along with a Nitto Spline Drive Oil Pump and Nitto I-beam Rods and Pistons for reliability and brute force. A Rams Sydney CNC Ported Shimless Head and Tomei Head Gasket ensures bulletproof sealing and perfect airflow. All managed by a Haltech 2500 Elite with EGTs and Plenty of Sensors to keep this weapon under control and running flawlessly.
Boost is delivered by a Precision 68/70 GEN2 Turbo, 60mm Progate and 6Boost Manifold for huge power and durable performance, all HPC coated and sent through a Hypertune V1 Intake Plenum and Intercooler Cast Tanks to keep everything cool.
A R35 Coil Kit, Race Pace Extended Sump and Custom 7L Catch Can to ensure the RB keeps singing and the driveline consists of PAR Gearset with a DCS 9-inch Clutch.
Hakon Suspension Setup with All new Subframe Bushes keep it stuck to the ground and a Custom 4-inch FABed Stainless Exhaust with AES Sidepipe allows the beast to breathe and scream like no other.
And of course, genuine TE37 17×9 wheels wrapped in 275 Mickey Thompson SS tyres all round, giving it the stance and grip to match the power.
From the engine bay’s paint job by Billy Rajab to the monster turbo setup, Anthony’s GTR is a rolling testament to no compromise JDM performance.
A huge congratulations to Anthony Caruana, another past winner living the Tuff Streeters dream!
