PAST WINNER SPOTLIGHT – Brad Revell’s 1974 Holden HQ GTS Tribute
Brad Revell, a Tuff Streeters member from Victoria, took first place in our Holden vs Ford Giveaway, and made his choice, taking home one of the tidiest street cars around, a Royal Purple HQ GTS Tribute valued at $155,000!
Under the bonnet lies a serious powerhouse, a 550HP built 6.0L LS, fitted with Higgins heads, a Holley Terminator EFI, and Pacemaker 4-into-1 headers that feed a crisp, commanding exhaust note. Power is channelled through a built Turbo 700 transmission with a 3200rpm high stall converter, into a bulletproof Ford 9 inch diff with 3.7 gears, a Truetrac centre, and Moser billet axles. A custom fuel tank with an internal pump ensures reliable delivery when the throttle’s pinned.
Braking and steering have been brought up to modern standards, with Wilwood brakes all round and rack and pinion power steering delivering sharp, confident control. Beneath the body, Viking coilovers, Rod Tech adjustable trailing arms, and a mini tubbed rear end with notched and reinforced rails complete the package, giving this GTS the stance and strength to back up its looks.
Inside, the cabin stays true to its heritage, featuring a full GTS interior with houndstooth inserts, blending retro charm with refined craftsmanship, while a Vintage Air conditioning system keeps things cool.
The HQ sits on black Weld Full Throttle wheels,17×4.5’s up front and 15×10’s at the rear with single beadlocks, wrapped in 28×12 Mickey Thompson radial tyres, completing the pro street look.
Best of all, the build is fully engineered for its modifications!
Congratulations to Brad Revell, another past winner now rolling in a piece of Australian muscle history reborn.
