PAST WINNER SPOTLIGHT – Nick Paraskevadakis’s 870HP LH Torana
An absolute beast to win. This 870HP LH Torana is a full ground-up build, proven on both street and strip. With a best time of 9.03 @ 149MPH, it’s a serious bit of gear—and now it belongs to Nick Paraskevadakis from NSW.
This beast was built for performance and precision, starting with a Racecomp built 422ci Chev engine based on a Dart block. Powered by a Callie’s crank and rods, Diamond pistons, and meticulously machined by Dandy Engines, it’s a recipe for serious horsepower.
The TOCA Performance Chapman 18 Deg alloy heads, combined with PAC springs, Jesel rockers, and Crower Hippo lifters, ensure flawless breathing and incredible power delivery. MSD Power Grid and a Moroso vacuum pump keep things in check while the driveline’s centerpiece, a MDT Powerglide transmission (rated to 1200HP) with a transbrake and a Dominator 5800rpm converter, puts that power to the ground with precision. Billet bonnet hinges and latch provide an extra touch of detail.
The fully fabricated 9” diff with a Strange alloy 35 spline full spool center and billet axles provides unparalleled strength, while adjustable Viking shocks and Wilwood brakes ensure top notch handling and stopping power.
Rolling on RC Comp 15×4 fronts with Moroso tyres and 15×8 beadlock rears with 255R Mickey Thompsons, this machine is track ready and built for the strip. Inside, the Holley 6” digital dash displays critical data from trans to engine, water temp to oil pressure, and more, all in a fully rewired setup by Race Wires.
The LH features a full SLR interior, Dual 3.5” full stainless exhausts, a fuel cell with a MagnaFuel ProStar pump, and a parachute with containment tray ensuring this car is prepared for anything thrown at it..
With 868HP on race fuel and an eye popping 9.03 second quarter-mile at 149MPH, it’s now tuned for the street on E85.
Good luck to Nick handling all that grunt on the street, welcome to the Tuff Streeters Winners Club!
