The boys were getting tired of their usual Australian Muscle and decided it was time for some experimentation. During one of their outings at Cars and Coffee in Werribee, they stumbled across this eye-catching 1965 Fastback cruising through the streets. Well, the rest is history!
This ’65 Mustang Fastback is far from your standard chrome bumper restoration; it boasts a finely tuned Small Block 347ci Windsor V8 that delivers a thrilling 450 horsepower. The engine was disassembled and machined into a 347 stroker. With a top-end rebuild featuring an aggressive camshaft, it produces an intoxicating rumble representing everything that describes American muscle. This eargasm is all channelled through a sporty exhaust system, collecting through the aftermarket extractors before exiting the tailpipes. Power is seamlessly delivered through a built C10 transmission and a sturdy 9” differential, which features an Eaton TrueTrac centre, 3.50 gear ratios, and beefed up with 31-spline axles setting the car up perfectly for strength, traction and reliability.
Step inside the interior, and you’ll find a true gem that maintains its left-hand drive configurations, a hint to its American roots. The cockpit is fitted with a Monster Tacho, LED shift light, Autometer gauges and the Quicksilver B&M ratchet shifter. The black leather trim is in pristine condition, with the iconic Mustang emblem centred beautifully on the seats along with the stallions engraved into the pattern of the leather. This attention to detail enhances the overall aesthetic in a way that feels subtle yet significant.
