Past Winner Spotlight: Zelos Venizel’s 1987 Holden VK Brock Tribute

Zelos Venizel from New South Wales is behind the wheel of one of the toughest and cleanest tributes to ever roll out of Tuff Streeters, a 1987 Holden VK Brock Tribute, valued at $130,000.

The body has been stripped back to bare metal for a complete restoration, including all new seals, lights, bolts, and trimmings. It’s coated underneath in Raptor coat for longevity, and features a three way sunroof and a genuine HDT kit including front bar, Group 3 side skirts, Group 3 rear wing, and rear bar. The engine bay has been smoothed for that perfect show finish.

Inside, there’s a custom trim by CKT with Devonish front seats, a genuine Momo Monte Carlo wheel, and upgraded with electric windows and mirrors. The dash has been restored and features a Holley 12.5 inch digital dash for that perfect mix of classic and modern.

The rear end is built for business with a full Flight Engineering 9 inch diff, 35 spline axles, a Truetrac stage alloy centre, chromoly lower control arms modified to suit adjustable XYZ springs, Viking shocks, adjustable Whiteline upper arms, a Whiteline sway bar, and an adjustable panhard bar.

Up front, there’s a new Pedders rack, BC Racing coilovers, a Whiteline sway bar, all new control arms, and everything powdercoated for a clean, tough finish. Steering is handled by an Astra electric power steering conversion.

The transmission is a two-speed transbraked M&M powerglide with a Reid case rated to 1500 horsepower, a TCE diode type converter, LSA TCI flexplate, Rod Shop conversion adapter plate with LH starter, and a 1000 horsepower rated GJ Drivelines pro series single piece tailshaft. There’s an Aeroflow trans cooler mounted underbody with a fan and Teflon lines, and a B&M stealth shifter with dropbox for slick shifts.

Fuel is fed from an 80 litre drop tank with a 460 lift pump, a Tarks 5 litre surge tank with twin 460 pumps, and 1000cc injectors all plumbed with Teflon lines and cleanable filters, regulated by an FPR2000 fuel reg.

Engine management is handled by a Holley Dominator ECU with a custom engine loom by PTC Wiring, including added protection sensors, dual wideband sensors, and fly-by-wire throttle.

Braking is next level with Wilwood 355mm 6 pot fronts, Wilwood 320mm 4 pot rears, a Wilwood booster delete master cylinder, and custom brake lines front to rear.

In the engine bay sits a forged LSA with Higgins race heads, a Harrop HO4 cam, Diamond pistons, Callies rods, a billet crank, and the block sleeved for strength. It’s cooled by a PWR race series radiator with a 16 inch Spal fan, and features a Harrop FDFI 2650 intercooled supercharger kit with an upgraded 110mm throttle body snout and custom 4.5 inch intake. Other highlights include a Harrop water to air intercooler kit, ceramic Aeroflow plug leads, a custom catch can, battery relocated to the boot with isolator switches, and correct fusing.

Exhaust is handled by custom stainless extractors (2 inch 4 into 1) and a single 4 inch system from the Y pipe back with twin EXO mufflers for that killer note.

It rolls on Weld 17×4.5 Aluma Star fronts wrapped in 165/75 Nankang tyres, and Weld 15×8 single beadlock rears with 255/60 PSR tyres for that no-nonsense street presence.

This VK Brock Tribute is the perfect blend of show car style and street weapon performance, and Zelos is no doubt turning heads wherever he goes.

Congratulations to Zelos Venizel, another past winner who’s now at the wheel of a truly elite Aussie muscle tribute!
